Hi!
I'm John Kirkpatrick and this is my web page
I was a Mechanical Engineer in the states, but now
I'm a teacher at Colegio Trener in Lima Peru.
I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA

These are some pictures of the things we did for School Week 2003.
It was a lot of fun for the kids, as you can see.

The second grade theme for School Week was nutrition, and they had plenty of fruit and vegetables in all kinds of combinations, not all were necessarily good for you, but they tasted great.
The area is pretty good sized and is just outside most of the second grade rooms, so it was a natural place for them to have a celebration.
The teachers had as much fun as the kids and they probably ate at least as much as the kids. .I can tell you that everything I tasted was very good. Then we had the tug-of-war contests between the sections of the grades, then some between the grades, then just everyone who wanted to try it could get in, I even got to try on a couple.

The Pachacamac Saturday
The Start of School Week
October 4, 2003

At Pachacamac on Saturday the 4th of October we had a big party/carnival/get to know the parents gathering at a place about an hour from the school.
The kids and the parents enjoyed this demonstration.
It was an active crowd, they really got into the Tabo and Jazzercise
It was a lot of fun and they had a pretty good crowd for it, of course the teachers attendance was mandatory, but it was still fun
The students were selling donuts and fruit drinks to raise money for their class functionsThey had Volleyball for those that wanted, as well as futbol (soccer) for the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. It's a great place and it's like our south campus, as it is part of the school.
There were professional massages given for 5 Soles (about $1.30) it only lasted about 5 minutes, but it was really great, the blind guy really knew what he was doing. Just in case we raised a great deal of money they had an armored care there, it was a Mercedes of course.
Keep checking back, as I will change and add more pages as life keeps going here in Lima.
